Eight weeks one post op, first walk outside with no crutches!

Hi all,

I am eight weeks one day post op, had realignment, fusion and bunionectomy, went out for walk today without my crutches .... I was so pleased and now I can see the progress I am making. The plate and screw are still taking some time to get used to though.

Getting there!

Terri that's great news! Are you still in a Cam boot or a real shoe?

      Thanks Kaliana,

I am not in normal shoes yet, I'm wearing swim shoes which are elasticated so expands with the swelling 😃

Terri that's great news.😀😀😀It does take time to walk normally again but it's all a step in the right direction. Your foot will let you know if you are over doing it. If it swells ice it and elevate it.

    Good Luckxxx

      Hi Mary,

Thank you, it was a real turning point today, still have a limp but I think that's because I can feel the metal plate and screw !
