80 Y/O with IDIOPATHIC VASOMOTOR RHYINITIS

Hello All,My elderly mother has been suffering (1 year) from a bazaar condition which the ENT’s termed Idiopathic Vasomotor Rhinitis, which means they really don’t know. The symptoms oddly start when she drinks water: Post nasal drip, then clearing of throat, coughing, and a feeling as if something is in her throat. These episodes get aggressive, and last for hours. I feel helpless and can only wait for symptoms to subside. She is 80 and my heart goes out to her. She feels depressed and despair. Meds, sprays have been useless. A swallow study was negative. Allergy Tests-Negative. We are at our wits end and desperate for some knowledge

    U must show her to gastroenterologist . ciz most of the deseases r associated with our stomuch itself

      Thanks. Docs suspected GI issues after negative allergy tests. She has been taking Prilosec for a almost 2 moinths now. However, these symptoms (Post nasal drip/mucus in back of throat/ coughing/throat clearing and sensation of something in throat) appear about 99% of time upon drinking water. even a small sip.

    She may allergy with the flouride in the water. Buy her a water filter and see how it goes?
