flickering plus other unusual symptoms

Like most of you I have flickering in my left eye when light hits it.  It's been four months.  I have macular edema behind the retina.  But I've never seen these following issues addressed:  I have had swelling under my left eye that is still there after 4 months and the left eye which was operated on for cataract has grown smaller. It seems like the eyelid has lowered so that it partially covers my retina.  Has anyone had this problem?  If so, please let me know.  Thank you.

Yes the pupil in one eye is now smaller and the eyelid is permanently lower, also the lid is now showing under my lashes and this makes both eyes look different from each other.  Does anyone have a solution?

Sorry Carol I don't have a solution and apparently docs don't either. If it affects your vision I believe surgery can be done to remove some of the extra skin that flops over the eye.  Insurance will pay if  it affects vision.  I had a friend who had it done.  She looks noticeably better.

In the next to last sentence I meant to say "pupil," not retina.

I had surgery on left eye in March, right eye April.  Am still 9/26/16 fighting the swelling underneath, and styes.  Dr. said tear glands stopped up.  I am now using antibiotic ointment in both eyes, now down to 3X weekly, along with steaming with wet washcloth and scrubbing eyelids with cetafil cleanser morning and night 7X weekly.  It is better, but still not there.  As far as your other problems, no.  My left eyelid looks lower than I recall, but looking back at old pictures, it was always lower, but not as noticible (I am 73 yrs. young) as now, so some ot that could be that I am tired of all this treatment and am putting too much thought into it.  Ask your doctor if the swelling might need antibiotics.  Good luck!

Have you seen a retinal specialist? The flickering you see is light reflection off your IOL. Your eyelid droop interferes with vision in the corneal and lens field. I had swelling under my eyelids on both sides after surgery. Droopy eyelid is a complication of surgery. Do you have dry eye?
