Need some advice as I'm panicking!
Stopped methotrexate 5 wks ago due to side effects and started on Sulphasalazine. I assumed I didn't have to take Folic acid anymore but as it's arrived on my repeat prescription I'm worried that I should have been taking it with the sulphasalazine?
Would really appreciate some advice, thanks

It won't kill you, but your body needs folic acid to generate new cells so it's definitely not healthy.
I say call your Dr, consulting nurse hotline, or even your pharmacist as soon as possible.

Don't worry. It's not a common Co-prescription.

As Lucy says, don't worry. It isn't a common co-prescription BUT some people do need it to prevent some of the side effects, especially mouth ulcers, so someetimes it is used I presume you have a rheumy nurse contact? Call her and ask what she thinks.
