    Hi Csilla

I'm a little non-plused by your doctors' decision to leave the endo on the assumption that it won't do anything more, but then their medical degrees sure trump mine.

If you aren't cleared for housework, stop doing it immediately. If you're not cleared for sex, don't have it - and no quibbling over what's "really" sex & what's not. Ditto for walking, driving, exercising & anything else you've been told not to do. You've had major surgery & had organs removed. It takes time to recover & time for your innards both to heal & adjust. The older you are, the longer all this takes. Also the kind of surgery/incision factors into length of recovery. You can make everything take much much longer by doing things too early.

I had some lingering pain following my total hysterectomy. The site that hurt the worst - left ovary - hurt for some time intermittently. I had some other occasional pain, plus one new pain. Eventually they all stopped hurting. Now I can't help wondering if those pains were of the lost limb variety. Also nowadays we know a bit more about how pain memory gets trapped in the nervous system and in the brain. If you were me & still had pain at 6 months out, & docs said I was fine & pain should end, I would try acupuncture. If there's a school near you some times you can get free treatments by the teacher if you're the demo model. (Needles are about the size of a human hair).

If you're interested, i'm sure there's a forum on the topic.

HRT never caused me any pain but it wasn't the same kind or strength as yours so I would ask the docs that question..

I meant that the place that hurt the most before surgery was where the worst post-surgical pain was, despite that ovary being gone after the surgery

An endo specialist sounds great! I, too, hope you don't have to wait long.

It's really hard being stuck inside a long time, isn't it? Lung problems have kept me inside most of the time since August. As hard as it is for me, it's much harder on my dog. Oh well ,,,

Check out acupuncture. It.only sounds scary.

      Csilla-

Thank you. I felt somewhat normal yesterday for the first time in weeks so I'm hopeful that my lungs are better.

You've never mentioned your age and that can be a big determinant about HRT. I was 27 when I had a total hysterectomy. Despite taking premarin, my skin thinned almost overnight. Now at 62 my skin is that of an 80 years old woman - and I only went off the hormones finally 8 years ago after tapering down for about 6 years. If you have naturally darker skin than my redheaded freckles, it shouldn't be as dramatic.

Hormones also factor into brain function and the lack of them can affect our personalities. You may still decide to do without, but consider these things & become as informed as you can stand from reputable sites.
