Please let me know what kind of surgery you had and how it affected you sexually? Does it ever affect sex drive?

Hysterectomy might affect your drive because of hormones. I only had rectocele repair and for me it's much better!👍🏼

A hysterectomy on it's own shouldn't affect your hormones unless you also have an oopherectomy in fact research has shown that women who have a total or partial hysterectomy often enjoy sex more because it takes away the worry of pregnancy. A prolapse repair often makes sex more enjoyable because a lot of urogynaecologists will tighten the vagina. If you are sexually active it's something you should discuss will your consultant.

    Hi Buster,

Sex drive unaffected by hysterectomy or repair surgery, but I did keep my ovaries. Having said that I was already undergoing the change and menopausal, so would have had a decrease in the hormones anyway. I think my drive was up at that point as I knew the chance of pregnancies was almost nil as periods came to an end. Had used the coil until I started getting inflammatory results on my smear tests.

Anyway more relaxed, less anxious when you know there is less chance of pregnancy. What I do find is that since the last repair, Sex drive down but again probably on other side of menopause now, but once been on topical cream estriol for a few weeks Sex drive goes way up and when I come of again for month it goes down again yet only a small dose that us absorbed straight to tissues on site and not suppose to go directly into blood stream.

Don't usually have a 'roving eye' 😅 but really strange!

Having said that, hubby got his own problems ( brewers droop), he insist his problems started with prolapse winking at him😅, which was putting him off and then lack of use during recovery period after both prolapse surgeries.

Anyhow both getting older and think at some point food and wine become priority. Although not ready yet to give up all together.

Just as well I'm still having problems with scar tissue otherwise might have been tempted to run off, ha ha 😅😅😅!
