Cost of Lidocaine Patches

Can anyone tell me how much Lidocaine Patches are?

GP gave me a prescription last week for 10 as a tester for a long term nerve damage condition that I have, but said they were expensive for the NHS & that she could get into trouble for prescribing them. Early signs are that they are certainly helping, so was wondering about the cost on a private Prescription.

These are very pricey - well over £100 for 30 plasters roughly (including VAT). However the price may differ between different chemists depending on how much they can procure them although I can't imagine there would be a huge difference between where you go.

Thank you so much for the info, do you know of the plasters come as a standard size? I'm currently able to get 4/5 strips from each patch so can get 2 1/2 days worth of use out of each patch.

They only come in one size which is 10x14cm, but you're right they can be cut down.

I presume that they can only be purchased via prescription and not over the counter?

Yes prescription only, so a private prescription would be the only other way of obtaining them.

Hiya they cost just over £70.00 for 30, as my Doctor told me the other day when I asked him to give me more then 10 at a time, I'd also been told few days before of reception that they were expensive.

    Hi

I get these and I have no issues getting prescriptions for them. Realistically yes they are expensive but if they help surely your gp has a duty of care for you too.

Prescribed today for debilitating pins and needles in my hands also told by my GP that they are bl**** expensive but it’s a choice between these and Pregabalin which he hates to prescribe.  Haven’t tried them yet but cheers doc.

Hi my father has just had his patches stopped, so I went straight to the pharmacy. He told me I didn,'t need a private prescription and the cost price he paid was £72.60 for a box of 30 patches of 5% lidocaine. They do sell them on Amazon at about half the price, but only 4%. Hope this helps

my doctors run by nhs have told me to stop using them for 2 weeks if they are not helping my pain which they do then contact them i think its the price factor as the doctor who prescribed them did so when i was saying that i bekieved i had nurological pain in borh feet couldnt lie down or have legs up to rest as i should asked to see a specialist but the new doc gave me the patches which do help at least i can get some sleep now i have once before tried going without for 3 days but the pain was bad....now they are saying the only thing they are good for is pain from shingles......so not true but I can't get 2 month supply at once only 1 month then ask again but was told it was so people can't become addicted again total rubbish why let doctors give it out then they stop it...... anyone else had same thing happen,?
