I'm 23 years old.. and have been having blood in my stools. I went to my gp who told me I had hemaroids she gave me some cream but nothing seemed to have changed so I went back to be told by a differant doctor that I no longer had them. I have been feeling quite constipated lately and feel as thought I have not funny emptyed my bowl, I get some mild stomoch pains somtimes get worse or better after eating I had blood done yesterday but waiting on the results to find out if I am enemic. I'm mortified by the thought of the C word. I have not experienced any weight loss but have been feeling tired lately. I have have been anemic in the past. My dr told me he's 75% sure he can rule out bowl cancer but I really don't no what to make of this..

Listen to your own instinct,I don't want to panic you but I had blood as well in my stools and yes it was bowel cancer. I had a very good GP who send me to the specialist and thanks to my GP I was in time. Yes I have got a stoma which incidently is not a big deal I am alive and ok. But don't let a GP fob you off insist you want to see a specialist. Good luck

My gut feeling is that it is.. & I cannot shift this feeling, my gp half ruled it out but seems to be in a rush with things. Everytime I have been in he has seen me before other patients my bloods will be back on Friday so I'm seeing him again in the morning and to speak about the next steps & having a camera. I have a young child of my own & finding it quite difficult to even think about it all.

Listen don't panic, you just want to make sure,it could wel be piles, but what I wanted to tell you if it is bowel cancer ,you will be early but you are very young. My daughter has got also bowel problems but hers is piles and she was panicking as she has seen me going through it. But  I will be surprised if it is cancer. Let me know the outcome, take care

Hey Rose for your peace of mind get a colonoscopy... I also suffered blood in stools/abdominal pain/ pencil like stools and change in bowel movements and I decided to get a colonoscopy/blood test/xray/ctscan and all came back normal. My diagnosis is diverticulosis and internal hemmorhiod. Go got a test for your peace of mind.

My dr is going to refer me for one by the sounds of it, they ruled out internal hemaroids, where was your abdominal pain? I get lower stomoch cramps on & off & I have a pain under by rib change on the right hand side. Right wear I have my gallbladder removed but this was over a year ago now it ranges from dull to sharp

Don't let your mind take over. You are bleeding because you are constipated and you split if your stools are hard. Also if it's hard it can strap the side and cause a little blood. It could also be what you are eating ( anything with food dye)Increase your fibre and drink a lot of water. You might have a enternal hemaroids. Cancer is the last thing you should be worried about. Have a colonoscopy you might have a polyp or the fecal blood test to see if there is a lot of blood. But try and stay calm stress, anxiety causes things to seem worse. Keep us in formed. X

Last time I went I wasn't so bad with the bowl movement it was alot softer they checked for internal piles but said that the ones I did have have cleared up and are no longer there.. this is what is making me worry as I thought it was all down to that
