Dizziness, Low blood pressure

Hi

About 4 years ago I had a mini stroke and so I take Atorvastatin 40mg , Clopidogrel 75mg and the doctors gave me Lansoprazole 30mg along side this medication and also i have digestive problems so i have to take bisacodyl 5mg.

i have severe dizziness and my blood pressure is very low, sometimes the device gives error. i had a fall because of dizziness that's how bad it is.

The doctors don't understand the problem but one said i have to get my hormones checked but after a blood test, another doctor at the gp said my cortisol levels are fine and i dont need hormone check so they didnt refer me.

i would be happy if anyone can help

    Hi Amir

I also had a TIA about 6 years ago so I really sympathise with you. I had problems with the Lansoprazole which made me dizzy. I also had difficulty with Amlopodine but after a full discussion with my GP, I stopped both of these drugs and just stick with Clopidogrel and Avostatin. If I'm in a stressful situation and my BP goes up, I take Proponpol which helps instantly (apparently it's the pill that snooker players use to keep their hands steady when taking an important shot!).

I take my BP at home every week and forward it to my surgery. I have recently bought a Health Smart Watch which is wonderful!

Perhaps see your GP to discuss your symptoms and medication. Everyone has a different reaction to meds so don't worry but do get it seen to.

Good luck and let me know how you get on.

I would strongly advise against stopping any meds before discussing with your doctor.

Have the conversation by all means but just arbitrarily dropping one as a result of an internet discussion strikes me as potentially disastrous.

      Amir49,

I agree with Jason1098. I would strongly agree that you shouldn't stop medications without discussing with your physician first.

i was the same After 6 months of research I stopped the statins Changed my diet and exercised more . I found out that statins in a high dosage can lead to severe side effects Check your leaflet that is given with the pills for them Clopidigrel is a blood thinner which stops clotting so do not stop them If you do some research on statins some doctors say that you have to take for life Some for a few months and rarely say do not take I found out that high dosage should only be for a short time supposedly to stabilise the plaque I was on 80mg a day and all sorts were going wrong with my body After speaking to a clinical physcologist who told me to reduce the dosage myself overtime and and monitor any changes in my body This I did and after 6 months of reducing and changing diet I stopped I now take bezafibrate which doctors do not like to prescribe due to cost This lowers Triglycerides and helps raise HDL Do some research and work out for yourself Good luck

    Amir49,

Have you tried to get another physician opinion? Obviously something is going on that needs further evaluation. My suggestion would be to request a second opinion from another physician.

I spoke many times to my doctor and i they sent me to another place and they referred me to specialist. he said it could be my hormones but i did a blood test at the gp after and they said my cortisol levels are normal so then they didn't refer me to anyone. (but the other specialist that said it could be my hormones and said i need to be checked by a specialist)
