Does bowel cancer run in families?

does having a relative with colorectal cancer GUARANTEE you to also have it in your lifetime? or is there also a chance that you won't have it ever?

    No, and yes. I think some family history (especially mother, or father) puts you at a five times greater risk. If lots of family members have it, then your likelihood is higher.

    Behaviour/diet's a factor too, one example: eating lots of red meat ups your chances imo, along with smoking.
