Hi

i have a carer and have had for 2 year, he has received a letter from the DWP saying that they want to do a home visit to do a compliance check i am a little concerned as i dont want to get him in trouble he claims Universal credit and Carers allowance i could not manage without him as both my parents are pensioners he does not live with us

Can you explain what this is and why he has been chosen as he believes he had one about 2 year ago and the letter says you are picked at random

    Hi,

No one on an internet forum can tell you the reasons why a compliance interview is needed for this person. All they can do is ring the number on the letter and ask what it's about and they may give them more information.

I always advise that if you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about. They do indeed sometimes choose people at random for a compliance check but not always.
