feeling so let down

hi all im bk for a litte rant,ive not had letter from specialist yet,but been to see my gp,only for her to tell me ive got to come off my sleeping tablets,has anybody else had this,i cant seem to find anything on the internet to back this up,thanks.

    Yikes, I haven't heard of any connection and also couldn't see anything online. I had acute perforated diverticulitis with sigmoid reduction surgery in August. I have taken an OTC sleep aid containing doxylamine for about 10 yrs. nightly.

    hi,i dont mean its connected to the dd the gp has said its due to the health care system,im a nervous wreck over it as i rely on them,picked them up today from chemist and they are 4 tablets down as im supposed to be weening myself off them,but i cant.thanks for reply

      I have to have surgery to remove my sigmoid colon after 10-12 of infections & flare ups, and I just spoke to my pyciatirist and was told I olny had to stop my sleeping,anioty & depr ession med the day of surgery , maybe you need a second opinon                                                                :

      thanks for reply,thats good about meds,my gp wants me off them all together,this month is going to be 8 down so 8 nights of no sleep,gona drink brandy on the nights i have none and that will become a greater problem for them.good luck with your surgery.nana
