Forearm pain....scared its a dvt??

Ok so last night when i feel asleep, I was sleeping on my stomach and I woke up suddenly to my right forearm having a sudden sharp pain or idk if it was cramping, it lasted maybe 1 minutes then went away but the residue of the pain was still there (if that makes sense). I checked out my right arm and it did have marks on it as if i was sleeping on it. I went back to sleep and did not feel it until about an hour or 2 ago. I felt it a few times.

I took my blood pressure shortly after and it was 116/62. I don't have any symptoms like dizziness or nausea or anyhting, its just concerning. Idk if i should go to the doctors. Its not swollen or red or tender...it looks like and feels like my left arm. Sometimes i felt the pain in my wrist area or to the the side of my wrist. I have been peeing alot, i think i went like 2-3 times last night. And I went so much this morning, then again about 30 mins ago.

I have health anxiety and I'm afraid its a DVT (lately my mind has been focused on that.)

I attached a picture, the red is where the pain/cramp would be felt and the blue is where would hurt after the cramp (it would only hurt for a few minutes.) The other picture is of my arm.

You do not have DVT. At one point, I thought i had a DVT due to the fact that I was on birth control (you're at risk). I had cramping in my calf and it wouldnt go away. I went to the doctor and he told me you will absolutely know for sure when you have DVT

You will have obvious discoloration where the clot is located

the area will be red/purple and warm

you will have horrible swelling due to no circulation

i had this fear for so long so my doctor showed me a trick to make sure its not a clot, and thats how he diagnosed me with not having one

CHECK BOTH PULSES IN THE AREAS

in your case, it will be the wrist. if both pulses are in sync in both wrists, then i can assure you that you do not have DVT. a blood clot in an area will cause a rapid pulse in that area because its trying to pump the blood through the clot.

if you want to be sure and have the peace of mind from a doctor, then get it checked. i'm sure you're fine. take it from me who's had this fear for a couple of months.

You don't have a DVT hun. I think the issue is when you sleep on your stomach your body isn't properly alligned and you can put pressure on certain nerves even without actually lying on your arm.

Did the problems go when you woke up the next day and were sitting upright?

My worry here is you... why did you take your blood pressure? Having a BP machine, especially when you don't know exactly what the results mean (yours was perfect by the way) is very dangerous, and stressing yourself out enough to take your BP can give you false high readings simply due to the stress. In all honesty unless you have been told to have one by your doctor you shouldn't have one. It will only add to your anxiety.

Health anxiety is extremely common, but I wonder if perhaps some CBT could help you? It is all about changing the way you think so it can help you not go straight to worst possible scenario every time you feel an ache or pain. Also, are you on anti-anxiety med? They may be able to help too.

Our brains are exceptionally poweful. They can induce almost any symptom if you are thinking about it, so the more you worry about a particular thing the more likely you are to feel niggling pains that make you suspect you have what you are most worried about. A good example is itching... if you start thingking about something itching all of a sudden you want to scratch all over. It is all in the mind.

Try sleeping on your side, with a pillow between your legs and not too many pillows under your head so your neck is alligned with your spine properly. That is the best way to keep your whole body in the best position possible.

If the pain continues, gets worse, doesn't go away when you are up and about during the day with no pressure on your arms (after you have been awake and up for a couple of hours I mean) or in any other way continues to worry you, then see your GP, but I honestly don't believe this is anything to worry about.

And I don't believe your BP machine is a good idea. I know it is a crutch but it could make things worse rather than better. Hopefully in time you will feel able to give it up. x

The pain had woke me up from sleep that day and when I woke up I immediately went into a sitting position when I did that the pain did go away.

Throughout the day the pain did come back maybe about 3-4 more Times. Sometimes it came randomly when I was just sitting or sometimes it came when my hand was holding my phone or if my arm was bent.

I haven't had the pain back. It was just that one day.

The bp machine is a grounder for me, even though I know it doesn't tell me everything there is to know about my body. I started taking it because I have chest pains a lot (I'm working with a cardiologist and everything has been checking out fine so far. I wanted to see if my bp would correlate with the chest pains (like high bp every time I had the chest pains).

I was actually worse before, I would check it everyday, close to 10x a day, now I do it 2x a day, so i'm weening my self away from it.
