I was diagnosed with Dish earlier this year. I have been in pain along long time i am 45 am a business owner. My concern is working, I am now at the point i can not work the pain is normally so bad even with Pain meds i don't sleep and staying focused (This used to be my greatest strength) is hard when your in constant pain. Has anyone else been forced onto Disability due to there DISH and if so what age and did they make it difficult? Any info would be helpful.

My husband has just been diagnosed with it at 71, mainly in lumbar spine. We suspect it actually started up around 10 years ago but has become much worse due to inactivity through the pandemic. He slipped down a kerb recently which has made it worse. He’s waiting to see a spine specialist for a possible injection but is currently having trouble sleeping. Not too bad during the day as long as he doesn’t sit for too long and uses the heat pad at times. He’s been given exercises but is finding it too painful to do most of them. He's been told he has to take painkillers regularly for them to work (high strength Co-codamol). Really, all the advice we’ve had comes down to exercise, heat, painkillers and losing weight. I hope you somehow manage to find some relief from your pain.
