GFR after radical nephrectomy

Posted , 1 user is following.

Hi,

I'm 59, and had a kidney removed in March of this year; the blood test prior to the surgery showed the GFR at >90. After informing my GP that i feel a bit unwell, a blood test was done. I've received a text message from the GP today saying that the remaining kidney function is impaired, with an eGFR of 54. A link was included in the message for ways to 'improve kidney function' . I exercise most days, and i don't drink or smoke. I've been asked to return for another blood test in a month.

i just wondered if anybody has had a similar experience, or if anyone has any thoughts on my situation.

All the best,

Craig
