Had trigger finger for weeks

Can anyone advise please? My right hand ring finger has had this problem for weeks and it has not got better or worse. Do you have to live with it? Does physio improve it? Have you had a steroid injection to release it? My GP has referred me to physio and I have a phone call with them in a month's time. I would really appreciate others experiences of this as I have the added problem of having to do injections as a diabetic, and it is very tricky, not so much because of pain but to manipulate, even more so as I am partially sighted.How was yours solved!
