Hallelujah! Diagnosis confirmed

Had been having agonising thirst infections since April, penicillin was no longer working when I got them so went onto something beginning with C. I was close to loosing my job if had so much time off!

It would start with a really dry patch at bs l of throat that would never feel moistened then I'd have stinging bits in areas at back of throat. My glands would be so swollen, I had white blisters appear on the dangly bit and it would swell so much I'd wake in the night gasping for a breath! It would always spread to the inner ear. GP said prob strep but strep test came back negative.

I decided to get a referral and use my private healthcare thru work to see an ENT specialist. My 'strep' hadn't quite gone and was nearly finished my course of antibiotics, he stuck a camera thing right up my nose thru to back of throat!! Little painful but he said it was the adenoids that are infected and they're never getting fully clear of infection and leaking pussy mucus all down bk of throat and infecting everything. I wasn't sure he was right Ashe couldn't explain the blisters which he said were all down bk of throat but prescribed another week of antibiotics and told me to get this sinus rinse called Neilmed.

I used the sinus rinse twice in morning and twice at night and after about 3 weeks i was able to smoke and drink without getting reinfected (which is what always caused it)! I feel fully recovered and I'm so relieved. Um still going to use Neilmed as it's actually quite nice and just to stop the chance of it ever coming back. I recommend this to anybody getting recurrent infections that they can't explain.

    Thank you for sharing. Will try your spray. I'm bad since the end of August and ent doc only on the 5 of December 😢

    So glad that some people do get better!

    Great news! Infected adnoids. Interesting. Inam glad u saw ENT.

    In. Australia we have a nasal irrigation called netimed and there are lots if saline nose sprays at pharmacy now. If nose feels swollen cortisone nasal sprays are helpful.

    It seems u had post nasal drip. Bacteria may have been tracked in nose it drips down back of throat. Tonsils are first part of immune system. Adnoids are in there somewhere- am going to Google their function in a minute.

    Smoke O.P's and alcohol cause my nose to swell up. Allergy or blood flow probs - no idea.

    Dry at back of throat - drink more water.

    Or cos your system was blocked.

    Remember all things in moderation.
