Have I got Sciatica?

I have no pain or weakness in my leg but i do have pins and needles that come when i sit down for more than 10 minutes.They are relieved when i stand up. The MRI I had showed nothing so they think its myofascial problems. Can you have sciatica with no pain? The neurologist says nerve studies would not help in the diagnosis and he just wants me to start Gabapentin ! Why would I take this if i have no pain. Can anyone shed any light on my situation?
