Hello I have have long term severe abdominal pain

Hello I have had this pain for around 6 to 8 years it really affects my life style can't work can't move off the sofa when it starts and when it's not so severe it's still their making me not want to move about I find a comfortable spot and try move as little as possible all my doctors are never intrested and always sent me away with ibs treatments even when it got bad I was turned away from hospitals several times even tho I could Bearley walk or talk everything becomes a really big challenge it seems to be getting more frequent and worse they diagnosed me with ibs last year but I don't think it is then a few weeks ago I was rushed in to hospital this time they went to discharge me and I was sick a few times I'm sure because they gave me to much drugs they put camera down my throat and found a 4cm hernia pushing on my diafram gastritis Duodenitis my doctor is concerned about my liver function test abnormal for bilirubin I think sitting about 45 for the last few months since he tested it and hasn't done any more tests the hospital sent me home afterwards with omeprazole and things haven't changed I was in so much pain just the other day two weeks gone after hospital I would have rather been shot I just don't know what to do anymore I am trying everything hopefully someone knows and can help a little the pain is usually on my right hand side but when it's bad it feels like all over an un describible pain nothing takes it away I get dizzy sometimes lose my appetite can't think properly through the pain I guess it's getting so frustrating I am only 24 and I'm losing jobs and loads of time I will never get back please help if you have any ideas on what underlying causes could do this

    I am sorry you are going through this. What type of tests were done to diagnose your pain? Is your pain dull, under the ribs? Any bowel issues? Ultrasound?

      I had an ultrasound they said that was clear then I got the endoscopy they discovered the hernia gastritis Duodenitis the pain is from just above my hip to under my ribs it's quite a dull pain I do get bowel issues sometimes I feel like I have to go but nothing been a while since I had that I never ever have the runs stools are basically all ways hard and lumpy sometimes droplets like rabbits and i am usually quite frequent once ever few days or so but when I get sore a don't really eat or move for days literally went a whole week a few weeks back so toilet routine brakes up for a while afterwards

      Alexander, push for abdominal MRI, you may have a sluggish gallbladder like me... Is your bm ever lighter in color, also the pain maybe just that what was found on endoscopy, believe it or not!

      No my stools are really dark and was hoping it was but been on treatment and i am still the exact same with bouts of agonising pain not sure if pain would be on right side too would their not be an underlaying cause for it surely over years of pain their has to be something

    I don't reply to often to the forums but do keep up to date when I have medical students looking to see symptoms etc

    I am a professional medical practitioner working in a busy A and E also work with colonoscopies and gastric medicine

    It would be great if you could let us know direct conjugated bilirubin levels and indirect up conjugated levels in your blood as the values when added together make the elevated total bilirubin levels in conjungated with high direct and high non direct levels which can indicate liver problems but other tests testing enzymes together with morning levels evening levels then other questions like are you on medication what do you drink in a week etc 45 is still pretty low but I would go back and get other tests done to dirt out your issues you say it's on the right hand side which is where your liver gallbladder Colin small colon is your liver hasent any pain receptors do it won't be that but please do go back and see your doctor for fill follow up

      High thanks for the reply I am going to the doctors tomorrow morning for follow up try get all my details printed so I will be able to give more exact levels and stuff

    i too have constant stomach pains, had diarrhoea every day now for about 5 weeks, can't eat much and can't exercise as I'm too sore. My brother has chrons disease and it took 10 years for them to diagnose him, he says my symptoms are exactly like his, GP gives me omeparazole and sends me away. I saw a gastroenterologist in September, waited 10 weeks for the appointment and it lasted 10 mins. Specialist said cause is bad luck and my genes 😳 so that was helpful. I can't wear a bra either because anything tight near my stomach kills me, it's terrible and I don't know what to do. Just know that you are not alone,p in the struggle to get better and a decent response from a dr.

      Hi katmaha i cant wear any jeans or boxers that are too tight hurts bad. seems to be more and more I am hearing everyone being treated poorly when it's affecting people's lives for years it just shouldn't be like this 10 years is a long time considering it's their job to find these things think if anyone took ten years to investigate something they would be fired before they got too a year

      I have been suffering from abdominal pains, unable to eat properly etc. for 17 months now & have had all kinds of tests like 4 endoscopies, 2 Ct scans, barium swallow tests, numerous blood tests, ultra scans & many stool tests. Only have found gastritis, duodenitis & small hiatal hernia & have been told to live with it as nothing can be done. Surely there must be a cause as you rightly say & they have no answers for any of us, this does have a massive affect on our lives and this is never taken into consideration. The gastroenterologists just tells me its all in my head!!! These so called experts are suppose to find the cause but they are not interested in us at all. They just fill their time & interested in money, total waste of time going to them now. I have just left it to GOD to help me. All the best to you.

      I wouldn't give up just yet just takes finding a decent doctor who actually listens and looks up your history to decide on further steps negligence isn't acceptable.

    hello alexander sad to ehar that you are passing through hard time,i never feel pain what you are saying i have bad anxiety it will kill me and also i have ibs off and on some time good some time bad...but don,t be worry to much because you ultr sound is clear and ddinot show any thing----about liver test i will say it to you normal rate is 40 or 50 for male and in 2010 mine liver function jumps to 623 doctor was surprised and run hepaptites tests for me but i have billrubin---and while in ultra sound they find i have small polyp in my gall bladder-----doctors are looking to me like i was on the way to die i change the doctor and thank God i find a good lady doctor who give me confidence that no thing is wrong she give me medicine of one month and in one month my liver function will come to 70s----and billurbin is finished----after that i was worried about gall bladder polyp though it so small 3 mm only but i request to forward me to surgon and do surgery of gall bladder and biopsy show no maligancy--------don,t need to be worried in billurbin some time your sgpt liver function jumped----don,t loose hpe you have no problem medicine will control it and about your dark colour stool if you are using medicine for billurbin you stool colour will be dark colour some time light colour all you have to do now try to focus on billurbin if you have billurbin you didnot feel hungry i know what kind of time you are facing now bcoz i have billrubin 2 times try to drink lot of water--Hepa merz syrup i used alot when i have billrubin and for liver function i used tablets for one month and i forgett he name sorry------just search hepa merz syrup and try to use it hope it will help you-----in billrubin you feel pain some time in your stomach some time you feel dizzy its normal ok

    I rarley ever have bm when I do it will be so hard and like 3 tiny nut shaped stools other times its a little larger lumpy stool with some goo stuff through it always really hard and dark
