Help does this sound like Pancreatitis?

I am roughly 2 weeks in now with sharp pain under my rib cage. It does not favor one side it seems to be just even right under the ribs through both sides. I am also getting mild upper back pain. I saw my doctor who felt that it was gastroenterisis since we ate at a buffet. I have been taking prilosec and lots of pepto and I do get breaks in between but seems after some meals it just starts. It feels like trapped gas that cannot move or be relieved. It feels stabbing and sharp and It has woken me a few times. I am not running a fever, no nausea or the runs. I almost went to the Er initially but waited and got into the Doctor who felt it was food poisoning.

I have never had anything like this before or if I ever did have these types of pains they were relieved by passing gas etc. It feels trapped. What would the next move be? How sick did some of you get when you had a pancreatic attack? My pain would come in waves and I drank magnesium and it seemed to help. I am pretty concerned so I am scheduling another appointment with my doctor.
