    Hi Ross

My daughter has unfortunately recurring hsp. She has had it 3 times ranging many months of symptoms and flaring from the age of 14 she is now 22. Are you in the UK?' A very good specialists is called Dr David Jayne at Addenbrooks hospital Cambridge. Google him and have a read. My daughters gp referred her . I rang addenbrook and spoke to his Secretary, its very easy to arrange. If you are a fair distance away they can even arrange a telephone consultation I believe. My daughters hsp is triggered by tonsil infections.. strep throat triggers hers. There are also many help pages on Facebook that may be able to give you support and advice.

I am 57 and was diagnos about a year ago, although my kidney Dr. told me from looking at my blood work and urine I have probably had this since at least 2014, I just didn’t get diagnosed until I got the rash. I broke out with a rash on my lower legs and was having stomach issues, they did a biopsy of the rash and I got my diagnosis of HSP. Since then I had to be hospilized once because I broke out all over my body.  They did a kidney biopsy to see the extent of the damage and treated me with steroids. I have had breakouts on my legs and face as well as stomach issues every since. They are trying to control my blood pressure which is a side effect I’ve been told and that is what does the damage to the kidneys. My kidney function went from 60% to 48%. I have to get blood tests and my urine checked for protein monthly until I level out then every 6-8 weeks. I have been told I will have to see the kidney specialist for the rest of my life. I have joined this forum in the hopes of finding other adults who are struggling with this because it is scary and has been difficult to deal with.
