Hiccups For 17 Hour's Now!!!

Hello everyone! My boyfriend has been struggling with a severe case of the hiccups for 17 hour's now. I'm really, really worried for him. He doesn't have insurance, and his mom won't give him his SSC, period. His throat burns, his stomach hurts, he's nauseous, and is overall, feeling terrible! I was reading online that hiccups that last this long, are from acid reflux. I have acid reflux, and I know it's not pretty... I get hiccups everyday, but they don't last more than a minute to a few minutes, at most, because the holding my breath trick actually works for me. We've tried that with him, and he's also, tried bending forward with water in his mouth, drinking it, and standing up straight again, but even that doesn't work. I'm worried for him. sad

    Do you have any antacis tablets such as Zantac or Rantidine?

      I have Prilosec at my house... I'll try getting it to him this weekend. I hate seeing him suffer like this. rolleyes

    I hope your boyfriend is all better now. For future reference, there are a lot of conventional methods you can try.

    Like taking 7-8 gulps from a glass while holding your nose.

    You can take one gulp, look upwards directly at the ceiling, plug your nose and try to gulp the water.
