Hodgkin's lymphoma symptoms

Hi, I've had a lump in my neck for some time now, I went to my doctor who referred me to a heamotologist who said that it was just over active glands, however the lump has increased in size and I also have a lump on my other gland in my neck, I've become tired very frequently and also quite breathless, I'm wondering if this could be a reason of concern related to Hodgkin's lymphoma?

You need to see an oncologist, I had the almost same symptoms only started on one side of neck and 6 weeks later woke up to lymph node explosion everywhere it now been 9 weeks and their horribly swollen still just spent 12 days in hospital. Biopsies have now been sent off to 5th pathologist they are leaning towards a rare form of lymphoma.

There is a reason to be concerned. You should be more concerned

if the lump is firm, immobile, and painless.

Hello Olivia - there is a small possibility the swollen nodes are Hodgkin's or some other lymphoma, but *much more likely*  they are reactive, meaning that you have an infection in that area of your body, which they are reacting to. Pneumonia, for instance (including low-grade "walking" pneumonia, which I have had), will leave you short of breath and very tired. But do go back and see your doctor again with these new symptoms - either way, it will be better to be treated!
