urethroplasty 1212/2018.

No erections since then.

and now it seems the urethroplasty needs to be repeated as my uroflowmetry peak flow rate is now at a 7.

enough is enough! もういい。。。もういい。。。

very sorry to hear that mate, was your reconstruction in 2018 a one stage urethroplasty ? Has your urologist surgeon asses reasons for re-narrowing of urethra or reason for flow slowing down? you might have to do a cystoscopy so to clear out precisely what s happening, all the best !!

One stage. went in thinking it could be either a graft or end to end join. Decision made to do end to end join in theatre.

Appears to be scare tissue growing on the join.

What's the use of repeating the op anyway? when you don't have erections?

What p*sses me off though is that technically my surgery is considered a "success "! yes a success!!!!

A success despite collateral nerve damage during the op. resulting in not an erection in 13 months.

A success despite the fact at 13 months my void rate is back to level prior to surgery.

Apparently, if you can void, unaided, for 12 months post surgery the surgery is considered a "success". That's where the often touted 10% failure rate comes from.

How is a limp dick not considered a failure? How is 13 months and a bad void rate not considered a failure?

Post surgery my void rate was 30. like a fire hydrant... lol.. By month 6 I knew! At month 10 and a void rate of 12 I knew!!!! i knew i knew i knew!!!!

      Month 12 it was a 9......

      Enough!

Really sorry to hear of your problems. I know that urethroplasty is a tough surgery with an extended recovery period. I ended up with complex strictures after my original urologist did a Greenlight procedure for my BPH. The strictures were in the external sphincter, so it couldn't close and it leaked all the time at a high rate. After attempts at dilation and a urethrotomy to fix the strictures by a new urologist failed, I went to see a specialist in Calif. who does only urethroplasty, contemplating going that route. Once I found that there was no guarantee of success after that difficult surgery, I went back to a specialist in NC who had made a different proposal involving a TURP through the stricture area, having a Foley in place for 10 days, and then 5 weeks later, implanting an AUS IF the urethra was patent (open). It was patent, and the AUS implant worked well and has restored some quality of life, now two years after the AUS was activated.Living through 8-10 diaper changes a day for a couple of years put me in a very dark place, but I have finally mostly accepted where I am. There is essentially no sex life, and I hate that, but at least I am dry and can empty the bladder with a good flow rate after 2 years.

If the person who did your urethroplasty was not a real specialist in that area, you may want to consider a different doctor. If read that the skill and experience of the surgeon doing that surgery really affects the outcome. Regarding the lack of erections, there are solutions for that that you may want to consider, such as a penile implant.Best of luck, because I know how dark it can seem when you're there and don't see any end to it all.

    Hey Osakadan

Hope everything is good now. I just had end-to-end urethroplasty and would like to know more about what to watch in next few months.

If it can give you some comfort, my surgeon told me that there is small possibility that we would need one urethrotomy after urethroplasty as sometime scar tissue grow like that. But he assured it's rare and you just need one time urethrotomy. Luckily things look good so far.

I know the feeling, man. I hope things have been sorted well at your end since it's already 9 months. Prayers for your health and fast recovery.
