I've been upset after finding out I may not be able to have a child!

I'm 42 with no children, I had a myomectomy in November 2015 because I was told fibroids were blocking my fallopian tubes they were inside and outside the womb since than I had 28 fibroids removed! My Hemoglobin has been in range from 8.5 to 9! I'm told I'm anaemic, for years my periods were very heavy! Its now Aug.2016 I still in a lot of pain from the surgery and I haven't had a period since June 13, 2016 I don't know if I'll ever be able to have a child! Having had this percedure it didn't help me at all! I have a lot of pain in my abdomen I haven't had a period now in 2 months and I feel like my chances of conceiving are over! I think this is the worst decision I've ever made, my FSH went from 4.4 to 8. 0 to 55.3; Estradoil 618 to 279 to 84 and the AMH 2.34 to .30 to <.15. Remember each of us are uniquely different so remember this may not be for everyone! It's been a devastated blow! Is there any hope for me since my period has stopped now it's been 8 weeks?

I'm very sorry to hear about your troubles. Don't give up hope yet, your body may still be adjusting after surgery.
Even though you feel myomectomy wasn't a good decision for you, it's likely that you wouldn't have been able to have children with the fibroids causing those problems. And unfortunately there aren't a lot of options to get rid of fibroids for women wanting to keep their fertility. Putting you on hormone treatment might have taken too long, given that at the age of 42 you wouldn't want to wait too much longer to fix your problems.
If you're still in a lot of pain it might be worth having an ultrasound or going back to your specialist to ask them to investigate it.
But I think you shouldn't give up just yet.
Good luck!

Sorry to hear your issues, first of all I want to say that its still possible to have a child even when periods have stopped for a longer time than yours. Even people officially in menopase (i.e. no period for 12 months) can still have children with the technology advances we have today. Secondly try and get a check up i.e transvaginal ultrasound/scan to find out why you have `abdomen pain, this could be from scar tissue from the myomectomy or it could be that your have more fibroids or could be that some of your organs are joined up with others, which can happen after surgery or something else. Its important to find out what is causing the pain. Both Maca powder and Noni Juice are useful for encouraging periods to return and balancing hormones, you may want to google both. Try not to worry or stress and instead do research online so you are up to date on the facts about causes of missing periods and try and include exercise and relaxation as part of your lifestyle, if you are not already doing so. For multiple fibroids such, you mentioned 28, myomectomy is still your best option. I had myomectomy to remove 32 fibroids in January and have much better quality of life than before. Remember that its major surgery and it can take up to 1 year to recover fully. All the best.

I think the recovery times given for these procedures are often unrealistic as everyone is unique. I was told i would be recovered with a week following myomectomy that was done by hysteroscopy, but 4 weeks later was still off work, I was initially OK for 2 days and then had severe diarrhoea, stomach pains, intermittent diarrhoea and pelvic pain. I wish you all the best with your recovery. It hasn't yet, fingers crossed, resolved my problems, as i have had post menopausal bleeding for 2 years and am still bleeding.

I had an open myomectomy in February 2016 and have not had a period yet either so dont give up yet.
It is major surgery and i am not fully recovered as yet.
As others have suggested it is worthwhile getting checked out to find the cause of ur pain. I get discomfort now after a long hard day at work but rarely get the sharp stabbing pains now.
I am 47 n dont have any children and when time is not on your side it is hard to come to terms with it but you still got time.
Keep fighting girl and i wish you all the bedt with ur recovery....physically and mentally xx

Thank for the encouragement ladies I needed that, I'm happy to know I'm not alone and maybe I just haven't giving my body enough time to heal, I will also ask my specialist to look into the pain. I had no idea it was still possible for my period to return or for my hormones to be restore! i'm going to do some research online also try the Nonie juice and Maca powder to try to restore my period and balancing my hormones. I have been extremely stressed by the thought of not being able to conceive because of the fibroids blockage and now the healing after surgery and my age! Coming from a family of two girls and two boys and being the oldest I'm always been asked when will I have a baby, I have 11 nephews and 7 nieces and 5 great nephews! Sometimes I think maybe I waited to long and my time has just passed !
