Irritation on gums, soft tissue behind teeth , HSV-1?

Hello,

59 yr old very healthy guy. I haven't been tested for HSV-1 yet, but from everything I've read this has to be it.

I go to the dentist every 6 months and always get A's

Not only am I experiencing gum irritation , I've had a few tiny fluid filled blisters. This has been on and off (mostly on) for months.

I picked up some Lysine and will start 1000mg

Anyone have any success stories with Lysine?

Anyone try the 3 prescription meds that I've read about: acyclovir, valacyclovir, valtrex?
