Is this normal and next steps?

Hi,

I had an accident on Tuesday 5th. Fell down on wooden staircase outside. Ring finger on left hand damaged. Purple bruising and swelling and pain on ring finger. Fracture on tip which is normal, a bit of bone fallen off of tip. Is it normal that a bit of bone will fall off on impact? Will the broken off bone move around?

Photos attached. Been referred to plastic surgeon. Will the plastic surgeon just remove the bone? I'm wondering if the finger will go back to have normal movement again?

    Depending what the plastic surgeon finds, the bones will probably be wired, plated or screwed back together. You have been referred to plastics because the bone is displaced and will not heal with a splint. Talk to the surgeon about any fears you have .
