IV Infiltration?

Posted , 1 user is following.

I got surgery two days ago and the anesthesiologist who administered my IV put it in incorrectly and proceeded to insert the fluid. I didn't know this was something that could potentially be dangerous until now because he didn't do or say anything and proceeded to insert the IV from my hand to my forearm. I noticed after he pushed the fluid in, there was a lump on the back of my hand and it has a huge bruise now. Should I call the hospital back or will it go away in a few days?
