Leg pain after spinal surgery

Hi - My wife had an Extradural Extra Medullary (Spinal) Tumour extraction surgery a month ago. Just after the surgery, she has started feeling a pain at her right leg. She had this pain from thigh for a day and then reduced to under knee a day after but she continuous to have this pain until now. She has not been able to tell if the pain has improved as she feels better when she takes pain killer but then the pain comes back after some time. Doctor is not able to tell when this pain will settle down but says it will gradually settle down. We are worried that the pain has not been settled even after a month. Can anyone help us understand if this is an expected effect after this surgery and how long will it take to settle down?

Thanks

it sounds like nerve pain.. ask for a doctor conference in this speciality. ask what medications and treatments are available to help her.
