Liver MRI after raised LFT's

I had a liver MRI done after an ultrasound showed a fatty liver with slightly raised ALT and AST, less than 2X raised. The MRI stated mildly fatty liver with smooth contour, no lesions, and grossly unremarkable. My GP told me to cut back on alcohol, lose weight, which I'm not overweight to begin with, maybe 5-10 pounds and exercise more. I have cut back on alcohol but not cut out completely. I binged this last weekend and probably 6 more since january, scared to death i could have done major damage. Is it possible to go from fatty liver to cirrhois in 6 months? MRI was done in January.
