Long Term Catheter

My husband had a catheter fitted in September 2020 due to an enlarged prostate. He was due to have an operation last year but his blood pressure was too high and he is extremely overweight. They were still prepared to do the operation by my husband got cold feet.

He has now had the catheter in for just short of 2 years and seems to think when he has the operation he will be able to wee properly on his own after 2 days. I on the other hand think he will have the catheter for life now. Can anyone throw some light on this situation please.
