Low dose oral mesalazine for diverticulitis

Posted , 1 user is following.

Recent (2020) study showed that very low dose Mesalazine given regularly can help control the onset of diverticulitis. it's usually used to treat ulcerative colitis and crohns but in much higher doses. I think the theory here is that it helps to control mucosal inflammation which can cause infection.

Anyone tried this?

Its totally possible for one sort of medication to help in other areas, but this is dangerous. The side effects are more likely to take over, and taking medication for something else can cause the body to be dependant on that medication. Chemicals from prescribed medication in the systems are a bit like illegal drugs, the kind like cocaine and heroine.
