Since I can remeber both of my thumbs have the joint in red almost still ( range on motion of max 20° \15°) it does not hurt, I never had any injury and I'm 23 years old. it's not a big problem but if something hit my thumb forcing the motion it very painful and it can last weeks.
I tried searching on the web but I found nothing I can relate to.
