Mild humming sound in my ears, is it ok for me to do nasal irrigation?

I have this mild humming sound in my ears, it started yesterday with a sudden ringing, now it's just mild humming.

When people talk or I hear loud noises the humming sound in the background increases. (Tinnitus perhaps? )

I do feel like I have a cold, just hot tired eyes, throat and back of nose feels a little sore and wanted to clear my throat this morning, no earache nor a blocked nose.

Would it be safe to try nasal irrigation or would I end up making things worse?
