my new THR is 9 days old. I'm horrified at the size of my ankle/leg on my new hip side. ice packs and raised leg are making no difference. Anyone else suffered with this swelling ?

Hi Jackie,
I felt the same following my op, everything will subside, take your time and let your body begin healing itself. Remember a THP is major surgery.

It will go down in time, don't rush anything. both my legs swelled up after my op. Couldn't even get shoes on, plenty of rest, don't overdo things. if your worried, contact the doctors
