Myofascial release massage solved my FS!

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've had frozen left shoulder for 13 months. Have been treated by PCP and orthopaedic specialist and had two rounds of physical therapy. I still have frozen shoulder. I had one cortisone injection by my PCP that didn't help and one guided injection in the hospital that significantly helped with pain but not with range of motion.

Everything changed last week when I saw a massage therapist who specializes in myofascial release. The massage wasn't relaxing and was unusual and a bit painful. But, when I got home, for the first time in 13 months I could suddenly raise my arm all the way up, high and straight! I can get dressed easily and I can reach for things in cupboards without pain. My range of motion has increased to 95% of normal. I am absolutely stunned and delighted. This is life changing.

My doctors and the physical therapists all told me to expect at least a 2 year process of healing my frozen shoulder and no one mentioned the benefits of myofascial release massage. I also haven't seen this discussed much in the few FS message boards so I want to get the word out. There is hope - perhaps this therapy will work for others as well.

Wow do i need to hear this right now!

My shoulder issues started last year amidst my menopause, hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia diagnosis. I had crunching and pain in my shoulder fir about 7 months before the muscle went into spasm.and the shoulder completely locked up. That was October last year. I was given the cortisone injection which didn't really help. I am now past the really painful stage and can sleep most nights without pain relief, however my ROM is still only about 30%. I am.also experiencing muscle loss in the arm and hand weakness.

I saw a chiropractor in December but decided that course of treatment really wasn't for me. I'm going to see if there is a myofascial therapist in my area. Thanks for sharing such positive news! it gives me hope. 🙏

Shannon...Hallelujah...its so nice to hear another testimonial on deep tissue message.

Always helped me with shoulder , back pain. also have not needed back surgery for slipped disc disease . it depends on the stage and initial diagnosis. I am doing much better and as well as faithfully following ..."Mindfulness".

So happy to hear your ROM returned. I have had similar issues with both shoulders and knees and deep tissue massage has really helped.

    Good Luck to you too....LoobyM.
