Neck pain after turning head too quickly three weeks ago

Hi

Three weeks ago I jolted my neck (nearly ended up through patio door in process) whereby I got up off a chair in a panic, and turned my head to the right too quickly.

It felt stiff/hurt straight away.

Since, I have been having real bad head/neck aches down the back of my neck on the left hand side - bottom of the head/before the neck starts.

It is particularly bad in the mornings. Thought it might be the way I was sleeping but why would that suddenly start now as nothing's changed.

When I bend my head forward, there is pain in the back of my neck on the left side.

Have tried Ibuprofen/Paracetamol but doesn't seem to touch it!

Any advice?

Thank you
