Pelvic pain.

hello ladies
I am 8 weeks post op - TVT and bladde repair - now, and have been very careful and rested loads. Since yesterday I have had pain where I think the TVT is - pelvis, both sides. Had this before, but it went away with pain relief and rest. However, the pain is going down into my groin and leg, especially when I am walking, seems a nerve proble. I do not think I have done anything to cause this. Obviously I am now resting again, and back on the pain relief, but am worried as I am going away in just over a week. I am seeing the consultant on Wednesday, but wonder if anyone can give Mr advice and put my mind at rest

I had exactly the same surgery as yourself last year. I do not recall having the type of pain you are describing but it takes a very long time for things to settle down. It could be referred pain. Can I ask how they did your surgery? I have had no problems at all with my TVT repair but my bladder prolapsed again 6 months after the surgery so please please be very careful in your recovery. I was given conflicting information on things i could and couldnt do which as a result didnt hold my bladder back in place. It isnt bothering me and i would never have anymore surgery to fix it but if i had known i wouldnt have gone out running or done zumba etc etc.

had the procedure vaginally, and I do agree that very little support is given post op. Have not started exercising yet, and have been careful with my bladder. Not sure I would have had it done if I had known more either.

I am going to see specialist soon. Just getting up the nerve. Very uncomfortable. I am very active and used to walk and excercise all the time. I have prolapse and it is starting to create pressure on my bum. Im wondering if you can ever go back to normal activity after surgery. 6 months seems like a fair amount of time to recover. Were you excersing very vigorously? Right now Im trying to do pelvic floor excercises regularly which helps a little but not nearly enough so far.
Please let me know. Scared to have surgery when the post reports are not good. Totally appreciate any updates. Thanks!

i wasn't over exercising. I didn't start until 4 months after surgery but by 6 months I had a stage 1 bladder and bowel prolapse. My physio had told me that it was okay.

Can I ask - did you have the TVT repair to cure incontinence? I have to say that my incontinence is 100% cured which is great as it was quite bad before. So although the bladder has prolapsed again the incontinence has gone. Did they do your TVT with mesh or is it banned where you are? My op was one of the last ones done with mesh before they banned it.

i had the op because I had a bladder prolapse, and a bit of stress incontinence, which has been cured. I had a Tension Free tape, very good according to the consultant , and that seems to be where my pain is coming from

Does anyone know if after you have rested for 8 weeks after surgery, if you can resume a job that you have to be on your feet for 8 hours a day? Thanks.
