Periarticular osteoporosis in toes

Posted , 1 user is following.

Hello,

a few weeks ago i hit my middle toe very bad, so i got an x-ray to figure out if its broken.

The x-ray says no fresh fractures, but it does say:

On the shown bones are visible "Periarticular osteoporosis of small joints in metatarsophalangeal stage" and "chronic metatarso-phalangeal inflammatory changes of the joint of the big toe". Visit orthopedist.

I assume this stuff is not related to me hitting my middle toe.

Is this something bad or could it turn into something bad? Should i go visit an orthopedist?
