Periods in your 40’s..

Posted , 1 user is following.

hello,

I’m hoping someone could shed some light on something I’ve been going through with my periods.

A bit of context: I’m 44, good health - eat well and workout out regularly. weight/BMI is within range for my height/weight.

My periods are usually 4-5 days, regular to heavy flow. However, 4 of the last 7 months my period will last 4-5 days then I have spotting when I wipe for an additional 5 or so days. It’s not enough to wear a pad/tampon but just there when I wipe. I am working with my gyno now and just waiting to hear back as to what they recommend. I had 2 transvaginal ultrasounds last year and they were fine- just a couple fibroids were found. Has anyone experienced this before? I’m sure the fact I’m probably in perimenopause isn’t helping but I figured my periods would be farther apart. Any advice/insight would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Liz
