Please Help: Cant Sleep At ALL

Posted , 1 user is following.

It all started around November. I was noticing that my back was hurting every morning. Come December, it was hurting during the day, too.

I went to my doc, who gave me some prednisone. It worked really well, but at about the time I stopped it I started to get really bad twitches and stings all over, frequently throughout the day but especially at night. So much that it started to interfere with sleeping. I’d deal with the twitches and stings for about 2-3 hours then finally fall asleep.

Meanwhile, I had my neck x-rayed and they said I had moderate disc collapse. I went to a specialist and he recommended physical therapy. Meanwhile my doc put me back on Prednisone and also on Gabapentin.

Then I got Coronavirus. My symptoms were quite mild, mostly just a runny nose. No breathing problems or fatigue. A week later, I tested negative. I stopped taking the gabapentin and the sleep problems seemed less frequent.

We’re about at the 15th now. All hell broke loose. Now I’m having myoclonic epsiodes (twitches) that stop me from sleeping, they “jerk” me back awake as I drift off. But at this point, the last few days, I don’t even drift off any more to be awaked. I’m awake all night. I literally lie in bed for eight hours and note the twitch locations.

Blood work is normal, and a CAT scan came back clean.

Every now and again during the day I’ll nod off for a few minutes, but not enough to sustain my sleep. I’ve tried muscle relaxers and melatonin but they do absolutely no good. The only way I can fall asleep is by drinking to the point of being tipsy, then I’ll sleep about 5-6 hours. Obviously, I can’t do this every night.

Any ideas?
