Propanalol and palpitations

ive been on 40mg propanalol once a day for 6/7 years for anxiety

recently, i was feeling less anxious, so on advice from the doctor i stopped taking them and started getting palpitations

After 2/3 days of palpitations i started taking the propanalol again and have went back to 40mg once a day but the palps have persisted for 2 weeks!

has anyone experienced this? and will they settle down once my body is used to taking the propanalol again?

ive seen a cardiologist who done an ECG and took my BP. ive also had bloods taken. all tests show my heart is fine

the cardiologist also told me i shouldnt have been told to come off the propanalol so abrubtly after taking it for so long. he said i should have been weaned off them at 30mg for 2/3 weeks, 20mg for 2/3 weeks etc
