pus kind of discharge from ear for over a month

i have been having a yellow-ish watery discharge from my left ear for the last 4-6 weeks. this sometimes solidifies and becomes wax. it smells.

i have no ear pain but my hearing in that ear gets blocked sometimes.

i have no other health conditions. i am a 55 year old male, 180 cm and 83 kgs.

any ideas what it could be?

i have booked a doctor's appointment but that is some time away.

    I know that this answer comes late but maybe someone else has this, sees this thread and wants to know…

    I suffer from severe hearing loss since birth and I tend to get infections of the outer ear due to cleanings and the hearing aids (otitis externa).

    It usually hurts but I had it once without pain, just pus like discharge.

    And it was otitis externa.

    Go to the doc and get it checked out.

    Cold also be nothing serious and just (too much) wax. A doctor can clean this.
