recovered but still get lightheaded and see black

I posted this in the Dizziness group a while ago but got no response, so I'll ask here.

I've been recovered from anorexia for 1,5year now. (I'm a 19yo girl by the way.) In that time I've been eating a pretty healthy diet with enough calories, taking daily multivitamins (which have the recommended daily iron intake for me) and have taken several blood tests that show my deficiencies are pretty much gone. However, when I stand up, I still often get lightheaded and my vision goes black. It's just weird to me, since my iron levels and other nutrition is fine.

details:

  • Frequency: How often this happens varies. For some periods of time, such as the past few days, its happens almost every time I stand up after sitting or lying down. Other times, it happens once a day or less.

-Symptoms: Whenever it happens, it's almost always when standing up after sitting or lying down. I can feel it coming around 2 seconds in advance. My vision goes black (sometimes completely and sometimes I can still see a little bit). My head hurts at the same time, it feels like some sort of pressure in my head. Both of these things go away after 2-5seconds. I stand still for a few extra seconds though, because if I don't, I feel a painful pressure behind my eyes for up to 5minutes (only thing that helps for this is closing my eyes).

-History: This started when I had my ED and the less I ate, the worse it was. (For example: when I hadn't eaten in 1-2 days, my vision would go completely black for up to around 6 seconds, I would almost lose my balance, felt like I would almost pass out etc.) I always assumed the ED caused this by giving me (iron) deficiencies, but I am becoming concerned since that was a while ago and I've gotten healthy since.

-Medication: Not sure if this is relevant, but I take birth control (Marvelon) and no other medications. I've had pretty extreme fatigue for the past year (10-11hrs of sleep per night and still being tired all day). Went to a specialist who's almost sure my old birth control caused this. It's slowly getting a bit better now.

(I'm hesitant about going to my doctor, because he's a friend of my dad and my dad doesn't know about my ED, and I can't tell him because he thinks mental illness is bull...)

CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE?
