Right Shoulder pain

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have full range of movement, I experience pain when raising arm from the side and moving arm back towards a 45 degree angle. I avoid overhead presses/movements as this can cause discomfort. I do calisthenics workouts and pushups cause no pain, bodyweight rows cause no pain as do pull ups. Wide grip pull ups cause some pain so I avoid.

After a workout (which is always done pain free as I avoid trigger moves) my right shoulder throbs slightly for a few hours after, it is throbbing now and I worked out 10 hours ago.

I dont have faith in NHS (UK healthcare system) to resolve it and private health care is so expensive, i want to treat myself.

Given that I have full range and during workout I am pain free can anyone offer advice as to what this could be,how to resolve it and/or where is best to look for further treatment and advice. Cheers

I have a shoulder problem and have been visiting a physio who is excellent, things improved with the first visit. I do pay privately, it is forty five pounds a session. I think you will find the NHS physios are usually pretty good, I was offered one by my GP who gave me the feeling it may take a while to actually see one, so that is why I went privately.

cheers. Im actually seeing the NHS for my left shoulder, its this experiance that has left me with little confidence in them fixing me. I was fist assigned a physion who, and i could tell this, was not sure on my problem but gave me exercises to do anyway - i did them religiously for 3 months - no change. She went on maternity and i have a new physio who binned all the exercises i was told to do previous and given other exercieses which are more focused on the injury. Next appointment is in 4 weeks, i then hope to be reffered to a shoulder specialist and get an mri scan. I started the physio 7 months ago - private would be quicker im sure, but i dont have the extra funds for that

Hiya mate , find a local chiropractor ( a good one check their ratings ) and just got for 5 treatments ...i pay £25 a go , ok it isnt cheap but m8 it works..If you read my forum thread my injury started exactly like yours from weight training with an old shoulder injury to frozen shoulder to being in extreme pain . I left my injust for 4 years befor ei got professional help. The NHS is absolutely useless dont bother..they will offer physio which u can do yourself...im 3 months into chiro now and my shoulder altho its still a little sore is a 1000 times better ..i have movement...it's still alittle weak at 45 degrees when pointed backwards like yours but considering i couldn;t barely lift it able 20 degrees without extreme pain it is a huge improvement. Just try chiro you have nothing to lose the 1st and 2nd treatments are usually free or cheap as they are consultations.

    Best of luck mate
