Rising PSA five years after prostate removed

Posted , 1 user is following.

Has anyone experience of my situation. Had a prostatectomy 5 years ago, left a small bit of cancer behind. PSA tests done every 3 months, then 6 months.

For the past 5 years my PSA normally comes up at <0.01 (less than) then 6 months ago PSA came back as 0.01 showing it was no longer less than and it was rising.

Most recent PSA later came back ad 0.02 showing its still rising.

I've been advised that when it rises to 2.0 I could then get an MRI pet scan. Now having a PSA test every 3 months.

I'm worried that while waiting for it to increase to a level of 2.0 I may get the cancerpread to my bones and become untreatable.

Has anyone been in this situation?

Any advice appreciated.

Many thanks

Mike
