    Hi

I have inoperable prostate cancer (doing fine by the way-no syptoms as such tet apart from urinary stuff-waiting for a "turp")

A friend of mine had the op to remove prostate and apart from a lengthy recovery is doing fine.

I would have one if offered.

Good luck-treat the so & so with the contempt it deserves!

    Regards, Foxy

    Hi ladyfingers

I had removal but laproscotically in Jan 2013 - and was OK until cancer returned in Feb 2014 when RT followed for 33 sessions along with Zoladex hormone implants it was the latter which said goodbye to my sex drive - so your fears may not have foundation but keep off those hormore injections if you can.   Good luck

Hi ladyfinges my Gleason score was also 3+4 had the op by robotic surgery 7 weeks ago a piece of cake for me went into sugery at 3.30 op over at 6.30 stayed one night in hospital home next day at 4,00 would have been sooner but had to waite for drugs ect, had a catheter in for 2 weeks compression stockings on for 6 weeks to prevent DVT i also had to inject myself daily for 28 days agin to prevent DVT no problem, Had a PSA test last monday saw the specialist on the wednesday, PSA test came back 00.1.4 from a PSA of 14 and got the all clear from the specialist who said the cancer had been contained within the prostate, At the outset i was told the cancer was only in the left hand side however after the op a post mortom on the prostate showed the entire prostate was contaminated with low grade cancer the specialist said i don1t need to see him again PSA test in 6 months will see a member of the nurseing staff, I am almost back to normal doing everthing i used to do,Just getting the bladder back under control early day`s as yet, For me haveing the op was a no brainer, Goog luck all the best.

You will be fine ladyfinger you here people talk about when they where abducted by aliens well it was a little like that for me as i lay on the table just out side the theartre the clock was on the wall at 6.30 i was chatting away the next thing i waking up and the surgeon was looking down at me saying everthing has gone well i looked up at the clock it was 6.30 it was as tho i had not moved an inch yet 4 hours had gone past it was really strange, When you go up onto the ward if you are up to it get chatting to other people on the ward i did and me and 3 other lads chatted away till the early hours of the morning time soon went had breakfast then a bit of dinner with the lads it was all positive, my daughter came to pick me up when she saw me walk out of the hospital she could not believe it lol she was expecting me to be in a wheel chair. As i said before for me the op was a breeze i hope it will be the same for you think positive keep smiling and have a good chat with whoever is on the ward after the op all the best and good luck.
