Sigmoidscopy/Colonoscopy - Polyp not removed

Posted , 1 user is following.

I had sigmoidscopy about 8 years ago for bleeding. At the time I was told by the camera operator that there's a polyp but it is too small to remove. They also found haemmoroids and advised a high fibre diet.

I've not given it much thought over the years but have recently been in communication with GP for other issues and for a copy of this sigmoidscopy report. I was shocked that the polyp was not mentioned at all in the report. I've been panicing also as some relatives have had cancer.

GP doesn't think it's concerning, not that I disagree with him, but I am unsure if they are really

taking me at my word that the polyp was found, or if it's being dismissed because it's not in the report.

Am I right to be concerned? if a polyp was found it might have grown over the last several

hears and can be removed? I was told I can't have another camera procedure because the report doesn't mention anything about polyps.
