Spondylolisthesis and formainal stenosis

Hi there,

37 year old female diagnosed in september 23 as having Spondoloesthesis grade 1 and formainal stenosis. In clinic with the spinal specialist i was told that a spinal fusion doesn't really work and that really my only option is the pars block injection.

Even though its been graded as a 1 im in a lot of pain & discomfort daily, its affecting my every day life and mental health. I can't sleep as I can't get into a comfy position so my energy levels are pretty much non existent. I walk daily with my dog but during the walk i have to stop constantly to bend over to relieve pressure, when i get home im physically and mentally drained.

Yesterday i went to the hospital to have the pars block injection, whilst there the doctor who was performing the procedure had a chat to me and when i told him i get pins and needles in my left leg and that it often gives way with no warning he told me it was highly unlikely that this steroid injection would work but its been requested so theyll do it! During the scan to find the places to put the injection they actually found 2 fractures in my pars whereas i was told by my specialist it was 1.

Yesterday after the injection i didnt feel too bad as it stayed numb for hours but today im in alot of discomfort, i have a very deep ache throughout my lower back into my pelvis and i now have shooting pains down my left leg.

Can anyone advise me how they felt immediately after the injection and the following days? Also is there anyone here that has had Spondoloesthesis and had a fusion?

Many thanks
