Symptoms improved after HIDA scan

My 30 year old daughter started with presumed gallbladder pain about a month ago. She had a gallbladder ultrasound which was normal. She then requested a HIDA scan, which she was told was normal at 80%.

Her symptoms were RUQ pain ( especially after eating something fatty), severe bloating, pain radiating around to her back. She severely restricted her fat intake, which helped for about a week, but then nothing really helped unless she starved herself and ate nothing at all.

Here is the curious thing......since she has had the HIDA scan 3 days ago, her symptoms have markedly improved. She still has a little bloating, but no pain. Her appetite has improved. She has experimented with going back to "normal" food, and has had no gallbladder pain since the HIDA.....even with fatty food.

She did experience severe pain when the CCK was injected for the scan, and the pain duplicated what she had been experiencing.

Could she have had a tiny obstructing stone that was not detected on ultrasound, which was cleared by the intense gallbladder contracture during the scan? Could it have been sludge that was cleared, making her symptoms go away? Has anyone ever heard of this, or had this happen?

Thanks for your input.
